6 Razones por las que el coworking en Málaga salvó mi vida… y mi carrera.
1 de noviembre de 2022Perhaps you remember how in maths it was essential to follow a methodology, not to skip any step so as not to make a mistake in the middle of an account, and thus avoid dragging errors, because otherwise the result would be wrong. (Especially if you are dyslexic, double check!). The same thing happens with business and business growth… and in this blog I will tell you why, leaving maths aside, I will share what seems to be a methodology to go from being self-employed to being an entrepreneur.
On this path of going from being a freelancer to a businesswoman, and looking to grow as a Marketer, I have something very clear: I want to scale but without escalating the problems of my business. For that I have chosen to train myself as I evolve, learning from those who have already been in my place and who I aim to be in business and human terms.
Earnings minus income equals happiness ®. Repeat Miquel Pino as a mantra, mentor of businessmen, who for two weeks in October organized virtual meetings with the most prominent figures in the business world and online sales at the Spanish level. Therefore,
How can you become a great entrepreneur?
In this blog I will summarize what I took away from those talks and detail what I believe makes you a good entrepreneur, as highlighted by each of the Digital Entrepreneur Week guests.
1. Ask yourself good questions.
In Miquel Pino’s interview with Alejandro Novas, he stressed that you can succeed as an entrepreneur by asking yourself the right questions. If you ask good questions, you will find good answers. So, do not skimp on delving into your questions.
- Ask yourself good questions;
- Contrast those answers with mentors;
- Make the right decisions and take action.

Justo esta misma semana me encuentro con un artículo de Tiago Forte en Linkedin. ¿Casualidad?
- Learn from history, ask those who have been through big financial crises to learn the strategies that have worked for them and extrapolate them to your business.
- How did you find out what he wanted? Walking.
- In order for its success to last over time, he asked himself, How do I adapt the company to my lifestyle? And don’t change your lifestyle to your company. Then, to find out if it is aligned with your values and goals, you ask yourself, Could I do that for free? How can I differentiate myself?
- You must be careful when you identify yourself with your company. If the company is you, you do not tolerate criticism because you take it personally.
Happiness is learned by example.» – Alejandro Novas.
2. Delegate as much as you can.
- Management of expectations;
- Pay for others to do it faster than you;
- Delegate everything you can;
- Plan financially.
For Juanmi Olivares it is simple. Managing expectations is vital. Communication is the basis for meeting your goals and those of the company. Be clear about what you want to do and what tasks each person has to do and have differentiated areas. What strengths each one has and focus each area where that strength generates more productivity and therefore results.
It takes us a long time to learn it quickly.» -Juanmi Olivares.
Pay for others to do it faster than you, and better than you – and teach you how to do it. Surround yourself with the right people to achieve the right mindset.
Delegate everything you can. Get out of the rat wheel and stop doing everything yourself (stop being a everythingologist) and delegate. Delegate what you don’t want to do, what you don’t like to do, and what you shouldn’t be doing. Manage and let them work for you, but get rid of the obsessive control of controlling everything (micro-management).
Plan financially. Stop doing by trying like a headless chicken. Begin to project what income you need, what expenses you will have… The biggest change when thinking as an entrepreneur is to present the annual budget to make decisions, and delegate accounting to experts.
3. Selling is helping. Sell and train.
When I asked Miquel Baixas and Miquel Pino during the Instagram live what is the first step freelancers should take to become entrepreneurs, their answers were clear, and both agreed:
- Sell (+Stop doing professional favors)
- Training (With people who have already been through your situation, with mentors)
For Miquel B. having a company works when you manage to separate yourself from your company, that is what gives you freedom. Otherwise you are one more gear in the mechanism of your company.

4. Give your best.
Giving your best will always make things go well, regardless of the results, because you have given your best. Celebrate, celebrate every achievement you make, no matter how small, but stay humble, you never know when the next stumble will be.
For Enrique Jurado, it is essential not to swallow the sun so that your Ego doesn’t rise (Although I admit that as a deep Leonina it feels so good to throw flowers at oneself when everything is going ok)… But it will also prevent you from being damaged! Humility will keep you from sinking! Because you will realize that the one that is damaged is your Ego, but not you, because you have done the best you could, with what you had and knew at that time. So, practice looking at it from that perspective… if it goes well, it’s not 100% thanks to me and if it goes bad, it’s not entirely my responsibility and fault, I’ve done the best I could.

5. The company must serve you, not you the company.
I am an artist, and I am an entrepreneur. Soma clarifies, in the interview with Miquel Pino, when he introduces himself. Well, Soma has left so much, phrases of great value but so scattered in themes, that I will list them to be shorter.
- Money is abundant like all forms of energy. You must love money, but not at any price. Money is a creative force. May it come into your life in a way that is more aligned with what you feel you want to do in the world.
- Do not force the machine, learn to mark your own limits.
- I choose to live in the simple world where everything is easy, says Jimena Duque.
- We have come to this life to have fun. So you can impact others.
- Be humble to learn from others, connect with your humility.
- Create Hype when you have something powerful on your hands, and encourage, create steps! The action is encouraged.
- Take some time to listen. (every X)
Listen to yourself and do what you hear.» – Soma.
Be aligned with what you want to do. Passion, mission and value… they are intangible, but they are absolutely necessary to achieve your goals. What you do from the heart with a business mentality, will allow you to help others to be happy… and will make you earn a living and be profitable.

6. Affiliation, the power of digital word of mouth.
Affiliates are responsible for advertising merchants by posting their ads or promotions (Wikipedia).
Javier Elices is a crack affiliate marketing, something like «monetize the recommendation.»
- Selling my product, is it profitable?
- Invest in Training
For Javier, his first milestone in changing his entrepreneurial mindset was triggered by studying the crazy billing numbers of the other Affiliate Sellers, which led him to think,
1) Selling that product, is it profitable?: According to Javier, the products you sell, you should really evaluate what the effort and energy that it takes to sell it costs, is it profitable? and contemplate the opportunity cost of not doing other things. Not everything is selling a lot, but that you are selling and that it is giving you a positive return.» This is how, in addition to billing a lot, you will also have a lot of profit.
2) Invest in Trainings: his second turning point in becoming an Entrepreneur was investing in Trainings. Meet people who are or have been through the same as you. For anything you want to solve, the key is to look for people who can help you, to work in your team doing it, act as a mentor for the team, or have the knowledge at the training level that can contribute something – not theoretical knowledge, but having applied and if you have been in that situation, have experience.
It is not paying for training to obtain knowledge, it is to buy time.» – Javier Elices.
It is so that they can speed up the results, thanks to the fact that someone catches us and raises us at a different speed.
«We have the ability to design what we want to do. Living from your passion is possible, but you have to know how to do it.»

7. Income – Expenses = Happiness ®.
Miquel Pino fue, mentor of businessmen, but after having seen so many interviews with great Spanish-speaking businessmen. I think everyone would agree that Miquel Pino is the Entrepreneurial Father ©.
Although Miquel Pino was the last interview, we could hear him speak from the words of his guests… I feel that I can hear Miquel in each one of the other mentor, and you can hear them in Miquel’s words. That is the power of this Mentor of Entrepreneurs, just by listening to Miquel Pino means also hearing all of the entrepreneurs who have worked with him. It’s just magical. His mantra on the happiness formula means that,
- Your business must be economically and financially profitable;
- It has to give us quality time for family, friends, do what we like;
- And lastly and most importantly, that it allows you to enjoy life.
Be aligned with yourself, do what you believe and be consistent with what you say, do and feel. Well-managed freedom is what allows you to grow as a person, as a professional, as a company.
I can close this session with a phrase that has been repeated a lot and validates the importance of maintaining that mentality of a child with the ability to learn, with an open mind…
I DON’T KNOW WHAT I DON’T KNOW.

Finally, everyone agrees that to go from Freelance to Entrepreneurship:
- You must delegate without micro-managing, if you don’t have a budget for an employee, start with specific tasks that take up a lot of your time or that you don’t like, delegating to freelancers;
- Take action, above all things gain experience, do not stay only with the theory;
- Ask for help, get training, invest in mentors;
- Planning, plan yourself financially and structurally, plan!
- Give your best, put focus and do the best you can;
- Discipline and perseverance is more important than motivation;
- Grow with awareness, avoid having to lay off massively due to your poor growth projection;
- Sell, but knowing how to monetize your products and your company;
- Diversify businesses and interests to reduce risks;
And the first step to climb is to define where do you want to go, to which port do you want to arrive? What is my passion, my goal and my purpose?
As Alejandro Novas said… «When the passion is lost, monetization ends. […] The business world is a master of personal growth.»
Digital Entrepreneur Week is over. Now, how do we continue?
How to go from being an Entrepreneur to an Entrepreneur in 3 months… PUM! If in these two weeks I’ve learned more than I learned alone in 9 years as a solo-player…
– WHAT?! Who dares to ensure business success in 3 months…? is it fraud? is it chamuyo? Well, no, it is the methodology and the grounded experience. Methodologies that have been applied by many people in a wide variety of industries and situations, which guarantee performance and ensure scalability (yes, that word exists). Methodologies that can reduce the risk of being wrong… and increase the possibility of success.
According to Pino, it is not only important to have testimonials that speak well, but that these people have done well. To that I point, to the empirical evidence and masters that are born to transfer that knowledge.
But above all, I choose to take action… pro-activity my dear readers, pro-activity.
Earn a living but still enjoy life.
That’s all folks! Now it’s time to climb to the top in all the areas of my life. Until the next blog friends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Silvina.
